On Thursday 27 June 2024 we had two visitors who talked about rocks and fossils and mines. Ivan came on his birthday and Geoff gave us dinosaur poop and we thought it was a peanut. Ivan came from TMEC and it was Ivan’s birthday. Geoff works at Sibayne-Stillwater. They talked about all the jobs in the mines. One of the jobs was they blow rocks up. My favourite thing was they talked about when Geoff let everyone touch dinosaur poo.

On Thursday 27th of June 2024 Myrtle and King Billy went into the COLA and there were two people waiting.One was named Ivan from TMEC and surprisingly it was his birthday! We also had a person named Geoff from Sibanye Stillwater. Ivan drew a map and we brainstormed where mines are in Tasmania. We brainstormed what jobs at a mine you can do. Try and guess what the most high paying job is? Well it is actually a cleaner! Wow! They get paid more than Ivan’s job which is going around high schools and showing them the jobs in the mine you can do. Geoff showed us fossils he collected OMG! I can’t even find a rock let alone a fossil! He showed us an AMAZING model of a mine then he passed around a fossil and made everyone guess what it is. Well it is actually an old dinosaur poop! Blehh! Some of us even smelt it! We also thought it was a peanut! My favourite part was the model of the mine. Ok bye!

On Thursday, 27 June 2024 we had two visitors talk to us about mining rocks and jobs. It was Ivan's birthdday, they talked about rocks. He brought rocks to look at. We thought that one rock was a peanut. When Geoff told us that it was dinosaur poo we were laughing and I loved the rocks that he showed us.

I liked the cleaner job because it gives lots of money and I wish there was a diamond mine in Tasmania.

On Thursday, 27 June 2024 Ivan and Geoff showed all the mines in Tasmania and I did not know that there was so many mines in Tasmania. We sat on the floor and they talked about the mine and Geoff showed us a fossil that is 240 million to 320 million years old and a model of Mount Lyell.

We looked at a peanut that was dinosaur poo. It was gross.

The fossil looked like a shell and the dinosaur poo looked like a peanut because it was brown. They taught us about what the Tasmanian mines mined and where the mines were. My favourite was the fossil.
