School’s are busy places!! There seems to be many activities that we are participating in, planning and organising all the time. Many of these have a learning focus and are for all, some are for those that like an extra challenge, some are just a fun opportunity. It is often the extra offerings that students will remember most about their time at school so are worthwhile use of our time.
This can create a feeling of busy in a school, however, we know that it is through participating and immersing ourselves in a variety of activities that we find out what interests us. It is by exploring and adventuring that we craft our identities. Finding your identity has become an important role for families and schools. It is essential that we as a school, continue to offer a broad range of opportunities for students. As we do this we encourage each student to try new opportunities. We don’t know about ourselves, if we do not try new things. We do not grow, if we limit ourselves, refuse to give new things a try, if we talk ourselves out of something because we are too tired, too scared, too challenged.
During this term 2 we have already participated in
- Anzac Day
- Mothers Day
- Fire Education
- 5/6 Camp
- Walk to school day
- Craft activities
- Music club

Opportunities continuing and coming soon
- Reading challenge

Cross Country
Monday 27th May will be our Cross Country. This will be held at the recreation ground and surrounding streets. This is a required school day and students are expected to attend. If they are unable to participate for medical reasons a parent would need to provide a note.
Fire Education
This week we have Fireman Craig at our school. He has important educational messages that will keep students and families safe in the event of a fire. He has visited Kinder with some cool dress ups. They have enjoyed putting out the campfire that exists in their camping scene this week.

Two weeks ago, our 5/6 students went off to camp at Camp Clayton. Here they participated in team challenges, personal challenges and other activities.
We were blessed to have mums in our school last week to join in biscuit making, bracelet making, nail polishing, massage and games. Thank you mums for joining us. It was wonderful to have you in our school. We are thankful for all you do.
