Our message on our entrance wall is
We believe that God’s universe is like a jigsaw puzzle. Every thing, every person, every place is an essential planned and important piece of this puzzle. This includes you, all our students, staff and members of the community.
Your shape doesn’t matter. How colourful you are does not matter. You may be a plain or ordinary piece but you have been designed perfectly to fit someplace in the puzzle. You are not an afterthought. You have been planned.
One of the challenges we have is to find where we fit. Finding where you fit, your special qualities and skills is part of the journey that we have as people. There is a place that you will fit. Once you find this you will have found true joy and peace.
After School Pick up
Students have been reminded this week about the importance of heading straight to their grown up/parent/carer after the end of day bell goes. We have noticed that some children are climbing fences and trees at the front of the school, and other unsafe actions after the bell. We ask that parents ensure that students are being safe at the end of the day.
In addition, if your child is being picked up by a regular adult that is not a parent/grandparent we ask that you inform the office or teacher so that we can ensure all children are collected and are transported home as expected each day.
Happy Everything
Teresa

The swimming program is an important opportunity for learning at St Jospeh's. Throughout the week students will participate in aquatic skills that develop their ability to be safe in the pool as well as teaching correct stroke actions. Building confidence and ability in the water allows students to participate in many activities that involve water as they grow.

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit each year. It is the only national assessment all Australian students have the opportunity to undertake. As students progress through their school years, it is important to check how well they are learning the essential skills of reading, writing and numeracy. NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills that students are learning through the school curriculum andallows parents/carers to see how their child is progressing against national proficiency standards.
NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process. It does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance, but it can provide teachers with additional information about students’ educational progress. NAPLAN also provides schools, education authorities and governments with information about how education programs are working and whether young Australians are achieving important educational outcomes in literacy and numeracy
Information went home to our Year 3 and 5 students last week. If you have not received this information please contact the school. Naplan testing will be held at school between the 13th and 18th of March. More information will follow closer to the time.
On Friday, 16th February we held our first assemby for the year. Congratulations to the following students:
